I'm so amazed by everyone participating in Operation Write Home's Memorial Day Weekend Bloghop. It is fabulous to have so many in the paper crafting community sharing their creativity and acknowledging those that have served and are serving our country.
I used to love Memorial Day as a kid because it meant just a few more weeks of school, a parade, a BBQ with family and friends, a visit to the cemetery to place flowers on the grave. Things have changes so much for me partly because I grew up and took an interest in the world around me and the history that has brought us to where we are today. I have gained a greater appreciation for those that have served and are serving our country and am grateful for the sacrifices they and their families have made to defend the many freedoms that we enjoy in this great country, the United States of America.
You probably arrived here from Little Bit of Life. If you didn't you can start at the beginning of the hop at the OWH page linked above. I'm in the last 2/3 of the hop so if you need to start at the beginning, I recommend you grab your beverage of choice, a snack and enjoy.
I have 3 cards that quite simple in making thinking of the fact that they will be going overseas and you don't really want to be too bulky.
The first two are made with stamps from Stampin' Up!Stamps: Land That I Love, Warmest Regards
CS: Ruby Red, Not Quite Navy, VV
Ink: Ruby Red, Basic Brown, Craft White
Misc.: Piercing
Stamps: Wonderful Words
CS: Night of Navy, Bravo Burgundy, WW
Ink: Close to Cocoa
Misc.: Star punch & sand paper, glue dot
Use a tooth brush to get the ink on the cardstock.
The last card is made with Ann-ticipation stamps. I don't believe you can buy these stamps unless an individual is selling them. I bought quite a few at their store in California before they closed.
A huge thank you to all that have served or are serving at home or abroad. Thanks to everyone that dropped by. Your next stop is Kelly at The Weekend Stamper.
