Love Letter

I'm behind schedule this morning for posting. Yet, for a Wednesday, I'm ahead. I don't usually get to shower until dinner is in the oven but I did that instead of stamping this morning. I still need to go to school but I don't have a set time to show up today, so I could still get some stamping in. You can never go wrong with red and black. For the punched flower, I punched a row, centering the filigree design for each punch. On either end, it doesn't all fit, so I picked the one that would fit most of the design and used it as my back layer. Maybe I'll have to write a little note to my husband now. Stamps: Great Friend, Watercolor Trio CS: VV, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Love Letter DP Ink: Basic Black, Riding Hood Red Misc.: Dimensionals, Rhinestones, Black 1/8" taffeta ribbon, scallop border & circle punches, rhinestone & filigree brad, mini library clip

I joined a Big Shot Swap to get more ideas. I don't feel I utilize my Big Shot as much as I could and I'm hoping to change that. I thought I would use the Two Tagz die because I rarely use it. I went searching from some inspiration on SCS. I ended up CASEing a card by Jen Mitchell changing the papers and the stamp set. I didn't realize until I went on my search that the scallop punch fits so perfectly on the scallop tag die. Stamps: Great Friend CS: WW, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Cottage Wall DP Ink: Orchid Opulence Misc.: Two Tags, Texture Plate, Rich Razzleberry Ribbon, Scallop Punch, Dimensional

This is a super quick card to make. I really like this size card because it seems to go both ways. If you have a lot to say it will fit and if not, it's easy enough to take up the space and say what you need to with a few words. Stamps: Medallion, Great Friend CS: Bashful Blue, Old Olive, WW Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive Misc.: Dimensionals, button, old olive grosgrain, linen thread

The first picture was taken last night, a little blurry but the color seems to be more accurate than the right picture, which I took today with sun shining in. What you can't see in the left picture is that the vanilla CS is scored at the top and bottom. After I took the picture last night and saw that it wasn't visible in the picture, I sponged caramel on the front of it. The edges of the olive, vanilla and DP had already been sponged with the caramel. I think it would be better to sew the ribbon. I stitched it using linen thread, which is a little thick. When I was working on it last night, I thought to use the sewing machine, but thought it would wake my son, albeit a small amount of sewing. Actually, my frustration probably would wake him as I tried to keep the ribbon lined up. My stamp area is an office area right outside his door. The card looked fine on its own, but it was a little plain for me. I added 4 branches (one is on top of the other so it could be longer)...
