Inspired Birthday

A busy day yesterday helping out a friend.  Her daughter hasn't been well for a bit and she ended up in the hospital last Friday.  My daughter and I went to visit Sunday after church.  I spent Tuesday getting my kids off to school and then snagged her son, ran an errand for her and drove into Orlando to the hospital.  I left him there to visit with his mom and sister.  Later I went to the airport to pick up her mother, back to the hospital so they could visit, then I brought her mother and son back to her house.  Full day with 5-6 hours of it spent in the van driving back and forth.  I'm glad they know what is up with her daughter and she is on the mend and that her mom is here to help out.  It has been hard for her with her husband deployed. Today's card is a quick one. Stamps:  Inspired by Nature, Well Scripted CS:  WW, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi Markers:  Chocolate Chip,...

I sat down to make a card and realized it was the day for the sketch challenge on SCS (SC283). I haven't participated in the sketch challenge in about a year. It makes it easy to know what you are going to do when that part is done for you. As I inked up the image to stamp it, I realized I have never used this image that I didn't color the leaves and stem and the flower in a different color. I wonder why I feel it has to be colored. Stamps: Inspired by Nature CS: WW, Not Quite Navy, Kiwi Kiss, Urban Garden DP Ink: Not Quite Navy Misc.: NQN brads

One of the swaps I'm signed up for is an exact copy swap. You need to pick something from the catalog and create a copy of it. I spent several hours thumbing through looking at what sets I had and what I wanted to re-create. There were a lot of cards I would have liked to make but I don't have the textured cardstock that most of the cards use. I never noticed that so many of the samples in the catalog use the textured cardstock. I ended up narrowing it down to two cards. I thought this one would get the most use by those in the swap. This card is on page 96 of the 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalog. Stamps: Inspired by Nature CS: Old Olive, Really Rust, So Saffron, VV Ink: Really Rust Misc.: Markers: Old Olive, So Saffron, Really Rust; 3/8" vanilla taffeta; linen thread; mini library clips; Dimensionals; spritzer tool; eyelet border punch
