Fabulous Fruit

This is one of the first cards I ever made when introduced to Stampin' Up! I've always thought it had a clean and simple, yet classy look to it. I made a dozen of these cards tonight for some teachers at school. I love the set as much now as I did in the beginning. Stamps: Fabulous Fruit CS: Naturals Ivory Ink: Summer Sun, More Mustard, Old Olive Misc.: Classy Brass Stencil, stylus, sponge, dimensionals, rust marker You need to stamp off the summer sun and old olive before sponging on the more mustard.

Can't Wait to Get to Heaven

This is one of the books I bought last fall and I never read it. Recently I loaned several books to a friend and this was one of them. Oddly, it bothered me that she had read books of mine that I hadn't read, so I began reading. Yet another book that you have to adjust to the writing style initially but it is an easy and good read. There are several parts that I couldn't help but laugh out loud. I noted pages to share with my husband when he came home because I thought they were so funny. I even called a friend to read a couple of things to her. I would love to have an Elner Shimfissle in my life. At least I think I would. Perhaps it would get tiring with the questions, or excitement of things we tend to overlook in our busyness, but she seems like she would be a hoot and bring a lot of laughter and fun stories to share and treasure. The main part of this book is Elner, climbs a ladder for some figs, gets stung by wasps, falls and dies (or does she?). It goes through f

A Cherry on Top

The sketch challenge was posted and I had been tossing an idea around in my head using this set and the sketch challenge was quite similar to my thoughts, except it called for more layers than I planned. I didn't really get to carry out what I was thinking, but in the end, I like how it turned out. It was funny because as I got the top and bottom on I liked it but once I started putting the panels on, I didn't care for it much. The word layer breaks it up enough that it is appealing again. This is the set that I wanted for my birthday and I got it before then, but this is the first time I have used it. I like the cherries, but I was drawn more to the other stamps, which I don't have an inkling of what I would use them for. Stamps: Kitchen Classics (Crafty Secrets), Friendship Flowers (Stampin' Up!) CS: Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, WW, Real Red, River Rock, Cosmo Cricket - Dutch Girl Ink: Stazon Black, Basic Black, Real Red, Wild Wasabi Misc: Blender pen, adhesive gems

A little thank you . . .

I had asked the young women at church to help out with child care at a conference we were holding this past week. I had several volunteers, and oddly, there were no children to watch. I still wanted to give them a little thank you for giving up 2-1/2 hours of their night to help me. I made these nugget tins for them. I love the label sets that Papertrey has available because of their versatility. I made up a bunch of labels for my mother recently and I better get them in the mail or she won't be able to use them.
