Great Friend

Image
The first picture was taken last night, a little blurry but the color seems to be more accurate than the right picture, which I took today with sun shining in. What you can't see in the left picture is that the vanilla CS is scored at the top and bottom. After I took the picture last night and saw that it wasn't visible in the picture, I sponged caramel on the front of it. The edges of the olive, vanilla and DP had already been sponged with the caramel. I think it would be better to sew the ribbon. I stitched it using linen thread, which is a little thick. When I was working on it last night, I thought to use the sewing machine, but thought it would wake my son, albeit a small amount of sewing. Actually, my frustration probably would wake him as I tried to keep the ribbon lined up. My stamp area is an office area right outside his door. The card looked fine on its own, but it was a little plain for me. I added 4 branches (one is on top of the other so it could be longer)...

Piggy Bank

Image
I received my Stampin' Success the other day and several pages in there is an adorable pig with a bow by its ear by Cathy Roy. As soon as I saw it, I thought of the quarters I needed to send to my father-in-law and thought he would get a kick out of something like this. Cathy used the circle scissor for it, which I don't have. I wondered if she did the ears with a butterfly punch. It doesn't list it, but it looked like the upper wing shape of a butterfly. I used my Coluzzle for the body and head. I cut the ears by hand and I'm thinking I could have gone a little larger, but it doesn't look too bad. I used both a 1" and 1/4" punch for the nose (I trimmed down the 1" circle so it had more of a rounded oval shape). 3/4" and 1/2" punches for the eyes. 1-3/4" circle punch for the treat cup and the modern label punch for the legs. Kindness to an Art

Image
I started this card a week ago and was waiting for the punch to be delivered. It came and I punched the flower and didn't like it. I sponged it . . . still didn't like it. Tried a corduroy button in the center of the flower . . . blah. There it sat all but the flower on the card. Finally today it hit me to use the pretty in pink in the flower center. I still want something more in the center but I know I tend to go overboard when I start adding. Less is more for me. When I practice more is more it is too much. Jami's Class

Image
Jami had her class last night and today she shared a couple of cards that Lauren did with the group. I thought the heart one looked fun and the colors on the friend card were different and looked good together. They would be good colors for a male card, not the card itself though. :) Friend Stamps: Vintage Vogue CS: Not Quite Navy, Vanilla, Dusty Durango, Sahara Sand Ink: Not Quite Navy, Dusty Durango, Sahara Sand Misc.: Dimensionals & Vanilla ribbon, oval punches Heart Stamps: I {Heart} Hearts, Well Scripted, With All My Heart Ink: Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip CS: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, WW Misc: Button, thread, piercing, dimensionals, heart border punch
